President Bush's rule or rather misrule was criticized by all intellectuals around the globe. A rule marred by economic follies, egoistic wars and worse international relations. All in all people around the world (me included) hated Bush the most.
But last week was a different one in Bush's life. And I should say that after this event of Shoe-hurling, I have started admiring Bush, of course not for his administration; but for his calm composure and agility.
I always compare it with his Indian counterpart. Had it been any of the Indian leaders, he would have got hit not only with 2 shoes but 10 or even more; being hurled from different directions and all landing on the face! And for sure the press meeting would have been cancelled. Lot of noise would have been made. The party activists would have vandalized the place and in the melee many innocents would have got injured. Then our respected leader would have arranged another press conference and hurled abuses on the person who threw the shoes.
To emphasize my point just see how Kerala CM Mr.Achuthanandan commented on being shown the door by Late Maj. Sandeepan's father Mr.Unnikrishnan. The insane old comrade lost his cool at such a small incident. He went on crying foul in front of media. Moreover he made a disparaging comment that "Even a dog won't visit their house, had it not been for Major's house", so unbecoming a comment for a state CM. But then that is the state of things in India. Better be a dog than a politician like Mr.Achuthanandan.
