First blog

Hmmm... it is been quite sometime. Have been thinking all this while to start blogging. And now is the right time it seems. So keep looking here for some intresting reading.
The philosophy:-> Cogito ergo sum...meaning I think therefore I am. It was first quoted by a famous thinker Descartes( hope i spelled it right, no offences neant by wron spelling :))
Actually I don't buy this philosphy, I think, therefore I am. Think, that every human does. As soon as you stop thinking, you are either dead or have entred in super concious state. It is not even a state of sleep, because in sleep too, you think.
So why the name "I think, therefore I am". Just, it caught my attention. Had to contemplate on it for quite some time. Had to come to the conclusion, that this constant thinking, constant chattering mind, incessant live commentry running within is very intresting. This very moment, as you are reading this, you can hear your chatter within. Someone inside saying"hmm quite boring", "seems to be lifted from somehwere", "Ya i know it, i have read it somewhere".
The whole mission of life, being to know this commentator, to know this talkative old friend who has been following us the time from when we have started making concious decisions.
hmmm...quite heavy huh.
To end on a lighter note...from one of my favourites Mulla Naseruddin

Children saw Mulla Naseruddin coming from the vineyard with 2 basketfuls of grapes on his donkey, gathered around him and asked him to give them some.

Mulla Naseruddin picked up a bunch of grapes, cut it up into pieces and gave each child a piece.

"You have so much, but you gave us so little," the children complained.

"There is no difference whether you have a basketful or a small piece. They all taste the same," Mulla Naseruddin remarked.

  1. Good beginning :-)
    Sartre it is, not satre.

    About the philosophy.
What Sartre meant was not the idle thoughts that come to mind but oriented thoughts.

Very similar to geeta's updesh where anything that you do is not 'Karma'. That is merely a Krut, an action. Target oriented action that takes you closer to your target or duty is karma.

Similarly, thoughts that take you closer to Is or to your inner self are thoughts; not that the girl sitting next to you has real big ones.

But i know that you do think. Unlike most others who merely muse.

  2. Well thats good, you had tried to define what is 'karma' and what is not. But Sartre no where mentioned that by thinking he meant something in specific. His statement, as I interpreted and also appears to be most obvious, actually meant " the very fact that u r thinking, means that u r alive".
Well every action can come under the definition of karma. Action need not be only physical. It can be by way of thought, deed, words and direct physical action. Even no action can come under 'karma'. So not studying for exam would be a karma, which will also give its result. Going by the same logic thoughts of slapping ur boss would also become a karma, although u never did it physically, but it will also bear its fruit as per theory of karma.
